Welcome to our first ever blog post, we wanted to kick start this by helping our followers get to know us a bit better.
Darsah Interiors was born in 2016 so we are still a very young company, but we are extremely proud of how much we have achieved and learnt in such a short space of time.
The company is ran by two sisters Camilla and Lydia who both initially came from a fashion background which as you will probably notice has been a huge influence on our designs.
Camilla (the older sister) studied at University in Leeds for three years and from there went on to work as a fashion buyer for the likes of French Connection and Ralph Lauren. It is safe to say that the discount is hugely missed and not just by me. After working in the gruelling and competitive fashion industry for five years Camilla finally made the leap that she had been thinking about for a very long time and quit her well paid and stable job to start up an interior design company and that was the beginning of Darsah and she never looked back.
Lydia (the younger sister) studied fashion in Manchester for three years but it wasn’t long before she realised that her love for interiors was much stronger than fashion. Shortly after the company was established Lydia joined and it was the best decision for both herself and the company.
You are probably wondering where the name Darsah came from, we get asked this question a lot, our surname is Premadasa (our dad is half Sri Lankan which makes us quarter and shamefully neither of us or our older sister have ever been) so we took the Dasa from it and came up with Darsah (pronounced Dar- Sah), it’s amazing how many people pronounce it wrong.
Anyway that gives you a short and very brief insight into the sisters who run Darsah, we hope that as the blog continues our followers will get to know us on a much more personal level. We hope that by following our blog we will be able to share with you all our knowledge and tips of the wonderful interior world that we feel so lucky to be a part of.
